We are proud to announce that Grasselli won the Safety Award issued by the ISSA Section Machine and System Safety for our CLO Safety System.
The meat industry is one of the most dangerous sectors, and injuries during meat processing are not an uncommon occurrence. Fortunately, cuts, lacerations (and rarely amputations) events, caused by meat slicing and skinning machines, in the last years decreased in an exponential way thanks to the safety systems adoption.
For this reason, the machine hazards prevention is a key element in efforts to make workplaces safer worldwide.
In these terms, Grasselli plays an important role because health and safety at work has always been a crucial point for us. Since the beginning, we have constantly kept on developing our safety devices to improve safety features, performance, reliability, and user-friendliness. We’ve never viewed workplace hazards as an inevitable part of the job; safety is always more than just an optional.
In our latest innovation, the operator must wear special light clothes and gloves wire connected to the control unit underneath standard protective ones. When the machine is working, the CLO smart system continuously processes all required data and automatically renders the suited safety level. Protection is instantaneously activated at contact with immediate reversed rotation of the toothroller, preventing any injury to the operator’s hands.
This is the result of years of dedicated research.
We will be receiving the certification with honors at the end of November at the 23rd World Congress of Safety and Health at Work in Sydney. We will be waiting for you online to share our next award!
